The pools are reserved for the exclusive use of our guests. The pools are located near the rooms so we invite our passengers to change inside their rooms.The opening hours of all pools are from 11:00 to 22:00. The hotel offers various recreational activities so that you can fully enjoy your stay. Once the rainy season is over, you will have the opportunity to fish in the Escalera river and try your luck in its waters. We also have a “piscigranja”, a natural pool with trout, located in the Grill area, for the less experienced fishermen. You will find fishing poles in the hotel at your disposal.
Near the Bar and Restaurant, there is a terrace where you can play ping pong or “sapito”, a peruvian coin toss game.
The hotel has a Grill and Wood fire area as well, those activities require to be booked in advance and do have an additional charge, check availability with our Reservation department and don’t miss a night to roast marshmallows under a starry sky!

El Refugio d’Elise is an excellent starting point to explore the main attractions of the area such as the stepped Andean villages along the Valley or as the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, located just 45 minutes from the hotel following the road to Cabanaconde.
Closest to the hotel, you will find the ruins of Uskallacta or the famous ruins of Uyo Uyo. For the more adventurous, following the same road to Cabanaconde, you can visit the geyser of Pinchollo, a natural wonder of the Colca Geopark and Andagua Volcanoes.
Our Reception staff can also put you in touch with local providers for activities such as cycling, hiking, ATV riding, zip-lining or horseback ride.

The hotel does not have its own tourist transport however we work with tour providers who ensure the transfer from Arequipa to our hotel. The average travel time from Arequipa to Chivay by tourist transport with stops during the trip is from 3h30 to 4h00 and the average cost is 35 USD per person subject to variation according to the provider. Please contact our reservations area to provide you with the corresponding information.
There are several transport companies that leave from the Arequipa Bus stations to the Chivay Bus Station. The average travel time from Arequipa to Chivay by public transportation is from 2h30 to 3h00 and the average cost is S / 20 per person subject to variation according to the provider. Upon arrival at the Chivay bus terminal, you can take a motorcycle taxi to the hotel located 5 – 8 minutes from the terminal. It is average cost of moto-taxi is S / 7, subject to variation according to the unit. In case you require a taxi, please contact our reservation area to provide you with the corresponding data, the average cost from the terminal to the hotel being S / 15.
After passing the Chivay checkpoint, take the route to Yanque-Cabanconde on the left. At 1,5 km, turn right at the height of the hotel sign. We have fifteen parking spaces in the hotel where you can park your vehicle.
